    Kindergarten

    8:30am - 2:45pm

Conveniently located at Emmaus College, your child will benefit from our close relationship with the school. Our children make weekly visits to the school library to borrow books and your child will be given responsibility for caring for and returning these books. They also enjoy visits to the prep classrooms, playgrounds and attend school events including sports carnivals and book week. During each visit your child will become more familiar with the school grounds and and learn new skills such as how to use the water bubblers. Our educators will watch your child’s confidence grow as they become part of our broader school and parish community and prepare for school.

While our kindergarten program runs from 8:30am – 2:45pm, extended hours of care are available for families until 6:00pm. Speak to our team of educators to find out more.

At Emmaus we offer a Queensland Government approved kindergarten program taught by university qualified early childhood teachers. As a sessional kindergarten children complete a five-day fortnight, during school hours and school terms.

"Thanks to all the educators that have helped Charlie grow and prepare for prep. You have helped him find confidence away from home, helped him grow and blossom and nurtured him along the way. I am so grateful for everything you have done!"

Building little friendships

The home corner is a favourite space with the children, where they enthusiastically recreate and share family routines with a creative twist.

Growing our own vegetables

In our outdoor play environment children foster a connection to the natural world building their own vegetable gardens. The children select a range of fruits and vegetables to plant in the garden and care for throughout the year. At different times they harvest their crop and make delicious snacks to share as a group. Through these experience the children begin to understand where our food comes from and the importance of caring for our environment.

Preparing for prep

Throughout the year we visit Emmaus College for activities including library borrowing, sports days, and gardening.  Along with becoming more familiar with the school surrounds, we help the children prepare for prep by encouraging them to take responsibility for independently packing their bags, caring for their belongings, and putting on their shoes. These practical skills help create confidence in new prep students.

Current Fee Schedule

Fees are reviewed annually and may be increased each year. Quality care for children, affordability for families and financial viability of the service are the key elements in determining fees.
